The moment has finally arrived when AirDrop Records officially comes to existence with its first EP. The music label recently launched by AirDrop, based both in New York City and Buenos Aires, and founded in 2006 with the mission to work with artists from around the world on diverse projects and events.

AirDrop defies genrification and will often be difficult to classify – it has elements of teechno, house, minimal funk, electro, ambient and many more, but always focuses on artists bringing new beats and ideas to sleepless streets, constantly defining the electronic and audiovisual scene.

Now off to a great start with its first release AD 001 aka The Giraffe, a house masterpiece created by Soul Clap. To complete the EP in excellence, we had the notorious Argentine minimal-techno producer, Franco Cinelli remix the original, creating the dark B side.
The track first began in France when AirDrop put together a South of France tour for Soul Clap. It was there that the Boston duo felt the influences of the African drums hailing from the other side of the Mediterranean, adapting them to a more western style of electronic dance music as the duo went back to Boston to complete the track. So from France to Boston to Argentina, the track is infused with the most innovative sounds.

The Giraffe EP is relasing in a limited edition of 545 ten-inch yellow-colored vinyls. The vinyl is currently available and will be in all major record stores around the world by mid-April. The record is in a see-through jacket to show the yellow vinyl and artwork done by AirDrop’s design agency in Buenos Aires (See the artwork below). Initially planned as an exclusive limited edition vinyl release, we decided to also release the tracks on Beatport where they are currently available for purchase. The Giraffe had front-page exposure on Beatportal and was listed as one of the WMC tracks.

Many established DJs are already giving early praise to Giraffe and AirDrop Records. With several other projects underway, of which it’s first Compilation release, “AirDrop presents Extraction,” focused on Argentine producers and featuring talents such Dilo, Fase Miusic Sender and Minimaril; as well as another EP with Soul Clap featuring a remix by Tanner Ross (Dirtybird – Mothership), Claude VonStroke’s prodigy, you are sure to keep hearing more and more about AirDrop…
