PRESS RELEASE | FEEDBACK

One of the many definitions of the term AirDrop, is to provide endangered zones, with food and goods, by plane and to the ground. In the same optic, an Extraction is an operation that implies rescuing individuals from immediate conditions. This compilation project was developed with the spirit of offering international diffusion and distribution to an Argentine scene, too often left local.

Thanks to such projects, Argentina is growing a strong reputation for its emerging music and arts scene. Attracting artists from all parts of the world to work on collaborations with local talents; it is also bringing to the latter, opportunities for worldwide tours and shows as well as releases and placements on foreign labels.

AirDrop’s aim was to showcase a part of the growing music scene from its more infant phases and at the local level, focusing on lesser known producers and using more acknowledged names to lend their credibility to the up and comers. The compilation features productions by Dilo, No Hay Pitch, Fase Miusic Sender, Minimaril, Peter Pan Project, McFly and Acampante. The artists featured on the compilation are a growing part of the music scene in Buenos Aires and Argentina; they are all active DJ’s and always located at the heart of the action.

One of the main goals for the compilation was also to bring together various approaches to electronic music together. Extraction unites Ambient (No Hay Pitch), Minimal (Dilo/ Fase M.S/ Minimaril), Techno (Peter Pan Project) and Electronica (McFly/ Acampante) together and under the same Argentine banner.

International acclaim is already coming; Jamie Jones played “Missing Keyframes” by Fase Miusic Sender on the spot, to end his set at the Freak n’ Chic party happening on the rooftop of the Townhouse Hotel in Miami, during the 2008 Winter Music Conference.
