French-Argentine duo Fritz & Lang are back on Airdrop Records, following their debut release ‘Crash’ and sophomore EP ‘Confessions’.

Fritz & Lang is the fresh collaboration between French synth maestro Francois Touin and Argentine musician Nico Stofenmacher. ‘Breaking Glass‘ is a three song EP developed over the last twelve months, exposing the latest devises and moods found in their eccentric whip of influences.

Dark and slightly subversive, Fritz & Lang manage to keep things sexy, from the dub-heavy “Breaking Glass” to the smooth machine purr of “No Soul”.

Argentine doyen Leonel Castillo contributes with a straight 909-mix, taking the title track for a ride on the floor.

Berlin-Atonal-2013

The legendary Berlin Atonal festival returns to the capital of innovative music after a 23 year hiatus.

The history of Berlin Atonal begins in November 1982. Set up at SO36 in Kreuzberg, the Atonal festival became ground-zero for altogether new forms of musical experience; Einstürzende Neubauten, Sprung aus den Wolken, Malaria, Notorische Reflexe, Alu, White Russia, Didaktische Einheit and many other like-minded musical pioneers used Berlin Atonal to launch their entirely novel ideas about the possibilities of sonic expression.

Now, in 2013, Berlin Atonal returns updated to a city that has itself changed. However, the spirit remains resolute: to resist the trends of the mainstream, to provide platforms for experimentation, to support those who want to break with trite and lazy habits of watching and listening.

What goes around comes around, so the saying goes. For Neil “Nail” Tolliday, 2013 was the year for come arounds. Sometime during the cold season in 2009, a foggy warehouse in the outskirts of Copenhagen became the setting to a collision that would change the turn of underground history for the Danish capital city. This was the night, when Marc Helt and Mikkel Ulriksen met on the floor, deciding to unite their singular yet reciprocal tastes and change the face of their native city.

Fast forward four years later Marc & Mikkel‘s first meeting and the duo has been pushing its serious sound weekend after another ever since. Always in the most casual and friendly manner, Marc & Mikkel takes over Copenhagen’s many venues for their raver’s delight.

You can catch them this coming Sunday at Søndagsvenner, an open-air party, dockside in the Refshaløen district.

Dilo-ethereal-Lres

Three years after “Waheira”, Dilo comes back with a double album released in two parts: “Ethereal #1” and “Ethereal #2″.

The multifaceted artist, real name Franco Di Lorenzo, also known for his outings as Monotax, Elephant Pixel and Cascabel Gentz, manages to tie together all his different projects to present this second long player released under his Dilo moniker to create something intricate and advanced, something truly Ethereal.

Flowing effortlessly, tinged with poppy voices and dreamlike arrangements, real guitar licks kick the clicks and microscopic arrangements which show off restless Dilo´s attention to detail get intertwined with vocal snippets, crackled and forward-pushing grooves: a trippy cosmic experience that might be ethereal but not transient.
