Beatport has some swanky new digs in Berlin, and a brand-new DJ booth to boot! To inaugurate our new space, we invited Paulo Reachi to drop by for a mix, which we broadcast live on our Ustream.

If you’re not familiar with Paulo’s name, that’s because he’s more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy, having worked at PIAS and !K7 in addition to his current gig as A&R and label manager at Tresor; he’s also a co-founder of Argentina’s Airdrop Records.

“Airdrop is a US label with various releases on the market, always successful amongst the most undeground DJs, with a catalog filled with anything from tech-house, deeper shades in techno, all the way to chill-out and nu-disco, showcasing artists like Franco Cinelli, Maya Jane Coles or Soul Clap.

On this occasion they unleash one of these Argentine stars who fill their production with pure class, as it is the case for Andres Zacco, already known for his preceding records on Airdrop or Ilian Tape. On the record we can find three original picks, absolutely exquisite, melodic and deep cuts, and a remix by Swayzak. 9.5/10″

“This double-header from Airdrop’s vinyl-only offshoot Aux-Rec continues its re-edits series, this time with Argentinian duo Leonel Castillo and Lexdinamo on unstoppable form, taking the mantle from Soul Clap who reworked Laid Back classic ‘Baker Man’ last time around.

Castillo goes heart-wrenchingly soulful with an astounding edit of The Dells’ ‘I Wish It Was Me You Loved’, underpinning the vocal with a shuffling groove.
On the flip, Bobby McFerrin gets worked over by Lexdinamo, and it’s totally and utterly irresistible.“

Maya Jane Coles, who recently remixed Fritz & Lang on Airdrop, included Alejandro Mosso’s remix of Diminutos in her Essential Mix for Pete Tong’s legendary BBC Radio 1 show.
