TANNER ROSS & SERGIO SANTOS – WINTER CHOONZ
March 1, 2010

We had been waiting for this mix for a long time and it became all the more precious that way! With much expectation, ladies and gents here is one hour of pure ANDRÉS ZACCO wonder! Boiling down a variety of the different paths he enjoys strolling on, this is yet another great introduction to the maestro’s world.
You surely remember Andrés’ timeless record on Airdrop last year, the ‘Seated Hopping EP‘. Well start buckin’ up as we can tell you that the man will be back very soon with a most moving record : the ‘Something In Your Smile EP‘. You lucky-lucky ones can actually get a sneek peek of it in this mix! Also present on the mix : Cobblestone Jazz’s new single ‘Chance’ on Wagon Repair / !K7, a Daniel Stefanik bomb and most importantly, an exclusive preview of Lucas Mari’s next record for Greener Records…

Knowing about the tidalwave that was coming up with our second Aux-Rec release, we prompted the boys behind the CHILDHOOD ‘87 project to create what is without a doubt the most exciting AirPod episode so far!

Last time we posted a podcast from Detroit legend Ms. PUNISHER was more than a year ago, marking the last episode for AirPod in 2008. Well here we are today, inaugurating 2010 with a new mix by the one and only Detroit mistress!

At the dawn of Airdrop’s 13th record release this week, the Space Cakes EP, here is an exclusive mix by the perpetrators themselves, Tanner Ross & Sergio Santos!
On this new AirPod episode, you will find of course previews of both tracks coming out on the AD 013 – Space Cakes EP, but also current jewels by Christopher Rau, Kris Wadsworth, Kasper, Just One Night (Gadi Mizrahi & No Regular Play) or the hit collabo between Sergio, Eli & Charlie of Soul Clap and Tanner, SECT! Be really really careful with this one, extremely explosive!

The nutty nutty CRAZY LARRY has embarked a few weeks ago on a month-long statewide journey! Crossing the United States diagonally, back and again, rigged with his super all-that-Larry-can-fly plane ticket, the Crazy one is puttin himself into a motley of culinary adventures. You can follow his whereabouts on the blog setup for the occasion http://crazylarry.posterous.com
This set has been recorded while CRAZY LARRY was on his Las Vegas stop. Picture a lavish yet smutty Vegas downtown cocktail room and yes… this is the perfect soundtrack to it. All time house classics flirt here with new groovy pieces, randy Larry… shaggy!

It’s official, NYC now has its own electronic music festival. After many attempts from Larry Tee’s to last year’s hyped minitek, many have tried and many have failed. I am sure that there were a few people like me going to the festival to analyze how well it was produced just as much as listening to 40+ big name DJs. Made Event’s Electric Zoo Festival has succeeded in creating a festival leaving fans wanting more and a profitable long term venture.

Dilo, an artist with many guises and part of the Airdrop family is now on tour in the US. He has already played a Wednesday in Miami at the Electric Pickle alongside fellow Argentine Airdropper, Dirty Room and in Atlanta, where he was hosted like a god by Heat Promo. Next stop is tonight in Seattle as the DB Festival begins.
Here are his upcoming US gigs:
Wednesday, September 30th, Midweek Techno, Boston w/ Pat Fontes
Thursday, October 1st, Electric Cabaret, DC w/ Rosario
Saturday, October 3rd, BLK Market & Resolute, NYC w/ Wighnomy Bros, Paul Ritch…
Friday, October 9th, Projektmke, Milwaukee, w/ Kate Simko
Saturday, October 10th, Volatl, Chicago, w/ Kate Simko

The friendly Airdrop family just expanded recently! Happily welcoming a new buddy to the band, Laurentiu Suciu aka FASTER from Bucharest (Bucuresti), Romania, as he participated to a remix on Cape’s Savor EP (AD DIG 012). We’re sending you today a preview of his mixpertise!

It takes a lot of digging before one can finally break through the thick crust of shoddy sounds, before reaching a quintessence of true quality. Ten years into the digital age, this is the case in underground electronic music maybe more than in any other kind of music.
I am sorry to let you know that following that scheme, logically, the best producers and DJs on this planet aren’t the ones you think or know! However rejoice! Because evidently that’s what keeps it exciting for everyone. It’s a pleasure to introduce you today to one of Argentina’s finest and best kept secret, one to put on top of your list: LUCAS MARI!
