Sundae is Funday in Paris with Funzion!
July 18, 2009
For those of you who didn’t hear about it or make it to the first edition of Sundae, the next session for serious catching up is Sunday July 26th, same place, same time, and with very special guests! Argentina’s whiz kid Funzion (Lomidhigh, Sushitech, Airdrop) is extending his European Tour to Paris and bringing surprises with him. Read more about it below and watch a little preview of what the first edition at Café Barge felt like.
It’s Sunday morning you just woke up because of the pounding headache and the heat just won’t let you sleep off the most-needed extra recuperating hours. Sounds familiar? Well get ready Paris, it’s time for a change! A fun group of New York City expats have been pulling all the right elements together to create a little ephemeral and magic house haven on the banks of Paris’ Seine. The first session happened on July 5th and set the tone for more to come.
For the occasion, an armada of Parisian DJs and activists regrouped to have the audience spend the smoothest yet bounciest afternoon in the sun. While Le Loup, of Wolf + Lamb fame, played his deep and sensual groovadooba house, Clement Meyer (the driving force behind the Get The Curse super-action) had everyone go on a rave of what could be best described as “serious beats”!

They were followed up with two extremely impressive live sets. Vadim Svoboda, who purely uses Elektron machines, and doing it to perfection, creates a hypnotic minimalist sound which you can feature on his Lessizmore appearance. Roman Azzaro, affiliated to Parisian label Coton Tige, took the vibe to more ethnic-sounding dimensions to which we can’t resist!
Airdrop was honored to be invited to participate in the next episode of Sundae is Funday, and we are really excited about it. Funzion from Mendoza, Argentina will be delivering to the riverside and open-skies, his über-groovy set that has made the most important dance floors of Europe go ballistic all summer long. Airdrop’s own Paulo will also be playing, and this will be for the first time in Paris over the last 6 years. Coton Tige will also be present on the 26th, featuring the live set of Chilean transplant Marcelocura!
This fantastic program of festivities will be topped by two beautiful “DJettes”, the lady in chief, Céline will be opening the afternoon while a very special surprise is being kept secret… for your own pleasure, only! See you next Sundae!
