Hej and Airdrop host the exclusive Detroit Electronic Music Festival ’09 showcase event for Punisher’s Detroit based Hej Records and NYC’s Airdrop Records.

Hej Records is the advanced record label hailing straight from Motown’s techno underbelly. Since 2007, Hej has been giving the international techno scene a radical new exploration of musical boundaries, with a shuffled cutting-egde fusion of techno sounds. The growing Hej family consists of Punisher, John Overfiend, and Sassmouth at the core, with artists such as John Selway and Maetrik delivering powerful remixes; the label bridges the gap between minimal house and sassy techno.

Airdrop Records is a hybrid mutation that manages to harness the creative powers of the most talented producers North and South America has to offer. Bringing forth an energetic conglomerate of eclectic electronic record releases that range between experimental microtech and full-on techno house, served with a slice of soul. Airdrop builds neuronal connections between local mini scenes and effectively joining the most driving talents in the fertile underground of cities like Buenos Aires, Berlin and NYC.

Joining forces, Hej and Airdrop manage to organise one of the most breath-taking events during this year’s DEMF in a no-attitude two-storey rock joint that will have you mosh in the dance pit – their anti cool style is like a breath of fresh air in the plastic face of the clone culture! Hosting the German bug maniac Steve Bug to give you a precise idea of the most stunning sounds around, Hej and Airdrop create a flurry of an event that reflects their vision of electronic music for today and tomorrow.

Super talents like Mikael Stavöstrand, Tim Xavier, Soul Clap and Kyle Geiger will have you dance with hairs standing on end. Open up mind and soul to receive the groundbreaking vibes of exclusive tag-teams: Punisher vs. Sassmouth, Tanner Ross vs. Sergio and John Overfiend vs. Fred while the city of Detroit stands again as the centre stage of world wide attention for house and techno devotees.
