It goes like this: Samybo is French (Just like us!) Needless to say, the taste is there! The mix we are sending out today was recorded on the 10th of April 2009, at Pink Flower in Toulouse, where Samybo opened for Matthias Tanzmann. Good times! In 2008, Samybo released a record on Spanish label Room 613 with an elegant Lemos remix. The same Lemos which will be playing at Samybo’s party this week end in Berlin along Audio Werner. The bash is called “Climb the Fence” and announces itself to be a great success! Coming up for Samybo is a great release on AIRDROP, due for the summer. But I am obliged to cut things short here, it is way too tempting to reveal too much of a secret surprise! Enjoy the mix and check out the party details here and on flyer below! Andrés Zacco, the Pergamino-born Argentine producer is not an unknown to the scene. His highly descriptive, funkily elusive, reduced yet very driving house sounds that are finely layered and always utterly tasteful in their composition have surfaced on labels as varied and renowned as Stock5, BPitch, Alphahouse, Esperanza and Traut Muzik. Andrés also releases on his own imprint, Greener, which features works by Lineas de Nazca, Kai-Maan and his dear friend Franco Cinelli to name a few involved.

As part of an exciting new wave of Argentinean sound producers, he, alone and together with studio partner Lucas Mari, manages to stun a receptive audience not only with the array of productions and remixes he has been releasing since 2006 but also with his gripping DJ sets.

His debut on AIRDROP is a well-paced three-tracker which stuns with its versatility and tasteful arrangements. The groove of the opener, the funnily named ‘Seated Hopping‘ grips you in the underbelly and shuffles you upside down with its deep, dubby flavor that will have you hopping on your seats in no time, the cherry on the icing being the dark, down-pitched vocals that haunt you on the rise.

‘Long Way‘ is a state of mind definitely not unknown to those in the know, and this time is virtually impossible to keep seated. Flurry filtered vocals warp in an out while the pitchy groove gains momentum, intensifying the mobilizing effects of the track immensely as you rise and shine to the infectious, stripped down, channeled disco groove.

The possibly most impressive work is the ‘Color Iva‘, a dubby, delayed, happily tripping track that dreamily unfolds its full narrative whilst growing and growing into a full-blown aural adventure, hypnotizing the listener with its sweet sounding frequencies. Zacco at his finest will have you gagging for more. Hold on tight!

For AIRPOD 22 (and the wonderful beginning of Spring in the northern hemisphere) what’s best than the fresh midtempo mix of a 22 years old kid. This mix blends a good amount of current and smooth 2009 tunes (that somehow feel like they have been around for a while) with a few tad older ones like Boeing‘s Endless from the 2000 released Beta album we love so much. Amongst the garden-fresh tracks there is also Andrés Zacco’s Long Way, issued from his new release on AIRDROP, AD 007 – Seated Hopping EP. Dropping right from the sky, the newest dance floor installment issued by the mysterious US-Argentine label AIRDROP is possibly the most surprising release to date. Why? Because the producer behind the infectious, percussive grooves is neither NYC nor Buenos Aires-based but chose to make Berlin his temporary home, marking his punchy edge by completely defying the typical benchmark criteria.

For Roman Fleischer aka Dirty Room, it’s all the same as long as he can make more music. His way of making his sounds is very self-sufficient, his approach to music that of an auspicious child immersed in its fantasy of creation. With [b]“Itches”[/b] his first EP on AIRDROP, Dirty Room dives deep down into the driving mayhem of happy discoid drum schemes that echo the organic instrumentation of classic house.

“They Will Eat You” is a joyous celebration of dance floor virtues but does not dive in electronic funk dimensions like lets say “To The Bright Side of The Soul”; stripped down to the percussive basics, his original track radiates warmth and groove, also thanks to cryptic African chant snippets.

“Itches” moves in a similar vain yet manages to lay bare a tiny tweak of crazyness that hides in shuffly delays and wobbly echoes that waft through the (dirty, hehe) room and space. A heavily driving kick drum and sassy hihats get accompanied by a comfortable bass line that has you dancing happily as it unfolds into a story-telling ear opener.

The three remixes are like freaky offspring; completely different yet somehow very similar in intention and drive. The chicos of Fase Miusic Sender win the race — they just can’t resist making marching stompers. Their “Old Skull” Remix bangs it deep down and dirty. Santos Resiak, the sporty Rosarino with lots of appeal mixes “They Will Eat You” into funky, rolling tech house dimensions. Guti — whose collective history with Dirty Room is forcing them to come out with monstrous concoctions like “Ich kenne keine Stiefken Mentimaster” — creates a slinky micro funk packed into tight loops for his version.
