Thursday’s Duel!
September 25, 2008As usual, NYC can never get enough of some nice electronic music and for every taste. This week’s duel is between Carl Craig and SuperMayer! Though there is also the now weekly Firsdays parties (tonight with Atomly) at SB3, officially or unofficially “Sexy Bitch”.
Carl Craig is just one of these masters who doesn’t need to be presented anymore: we all know his name is synonymous to Original Techno. Recently he treated all of us with his two different remixes on Morgan Geist’s “Detroit”, flawless… as usual. While Dixon perfectly inserted the Remix 2 yesterday night at Midweek Techno in Boston, we are deeply in love with Remix 1. Listen to it just once and you will be instantly addicted: it is the freshest approach to the original Detroit Techno sound we’ve heard in a long time!
As for SuperMayer, the german combo promises a great time as well, with some more pop, funky, housey and groovy music. Perfect for a Thursday night of dancing! Neil Aline and Alex from Tokyo will be taking care of the Santos basement taking it intimate and deep like they know how to.
Both acts will have to shake up a knowledgeable public at Cielo and Santos. But if the surprise effect received in Carl Craig’s new productions transcribes to his set tonight, well… we might already have a winner!
